NTT DATA is looking for a Junior Data Centre Technician in Groningen to play a key role in maintaining critical IT infrastructure for a global customer. In this hands-on role, you will support server installations, hardware maintenance, cabling, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operational activities within a fast-paced data centre environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Install and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform copper and fibre-optic cabling activities.
• Ensure that client infrastructure is correctly configured, installed, tested, and fully operational.
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset inventory records.
• Liaise with client IT teams, carriers, vendors, and internal colleagues to expedite the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues.
• Investigate problems relating to systems, processes, and services, and assist with the implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
• Adhere to operational, quality, safety, and security standards to ensure maximum uptime and service reliability.

• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• The ability to plan and organise activities effectively while adapting to changing priorities.
• Confidence working in a fast-paced and pressurized environment.
• A flexible and proactive approach to solving problems.
• A customer-focused mindset, with the ability to understand client requirements and deliver a positive customer experience throughout the service lifecycle.
• Able to work in shifts between 07:00 and 23:30, this will shift to a 24 x 7 shift coverage in the future

 

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar technical support, infrastructure, or data centre role.
