About the role

Description

Part-Time Physical Education Coach & After School Sports Enrichment Instructor

Do you have boundless energy, a passion for making a difference, and a knack for connecting with kids?

Got Game Sports — one of LA's premier youth education, PE, and camp providers since 2004 — is looking for professional and enthusiastic PE Coaches and After School Sports Enrichment Instructors to lead students at schools across Woodland Hills and the surrounding Valley areas. Come join a ridiculously fun and dynamic team!

What You'll Do

  • Lead engaging, active PE classes for a range of ages and skill levels, teaching kids how to move, compete, and stay healthy
  • Create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every kid can thrive — the confident athlete and the nervous first-timer alike
  • Lead recess and lunch-time games to create fun experiences for all students
  • Model and uphold our safety standards
  • Communicate clearly, proactively and regularly with our management team

Who You Are

  • You love working with kids and connect with them naturally
  • You're a strong, clear communicator with a big voice and who's comfortable leading large groups
  • You have experience leading groups of children in a sports or active setting
  • You take initiative. When you don't know something, you dig in and find the answer — and you ask questions early rather than sitting on something you don't understand
  • You're adaptable, dependable, and a real team player
  • You're naturally active, love being outdoors, and bring high energy to everything you do
  • 1+ year of experience in physical education, coaching, or childcare (preferred)

What You'll Need

  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license — some assignments include travel between school sites during the day (mileage reimbursed)
  • Ability to commute to assigned sites across Los Angeles and the SF Valley. Specific placements are discussed during the interview process
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete required school-site clearances

Schedule & Pay

  • Part-time, Monday through Friday — 20 to 30 hours per week
  • $25–30/hour to start, depending on experience
  • Mileage reimbursed for travel between sites

Why Got Game?

  • Real impact. You're a leader in your school community
  • A culture that backs you up. 22 years of excellence
  • Room to grow. We love promoting from within, and rewarding our highest impact players
  • We Speak Kid. It's how we connect — attitude, effort, community

Our Interview Process

  1. Submit your application for review by the Got Game team
  2. Complete a short "one-way" video interview — it lets us review faster and respects your time
  3. Qualified candidates are invited to a live video interview with our team
  4. Offer, onboarding, and training — welcome to Got Game!

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate, instruct, and participate in physical activities, including but not limited to running, jumping, stretching, and lifting.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g., sports gear, mats, cones).
  • Sufficient stamina to actively and consistently engage with students throughout a full school day in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to review curriculum, plan age-appropriate activities, and execute lesson plans both independently and in collaboration with our management team.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and inclement weather when teaching outdoor activities.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to project voice clearly in large, open spaces.
  • Must possess the visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
