Join Axos Bank’s immersive 12-week Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on experience, contribute to enterprise initiatives, and develop professional skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven financial environment. Along with your day-to-day job duties, you will take part in a capstone project, sessions with our business leaders, financial literacy training courses, Corporate Finance Institute trainings, and a volunteer day. Interns choose between one of two sessions.

Session 1: May 25 - August 13
Session 2: June 14 - September 3

This role is 100% on-site and located at our HQ in San Diego, CA.

As the Business Analyst Intern within Small Business Banking at Axos Bank, you will work directly with business leaders on strategic initiatives that support customer growth, deposit acquisition, onboarding effectiveness, product development, and operational excellence. This role provides exposure to multiple areas of the bank, including Small Business Banking, Program management, Operations, Data Analytics, Risk, and Marketing.

You will leverage data to identify customer trends, improve business processes, support product and growth initiatives, and develop insights that influence executive decision-making. This internship offers hands-on experience in financial services, business strategy, data analytics, program management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain executive-level dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and other analytics tools to monitor customer growth, deposit performance, onboarding metrics, portfolio trends, and operational KPIs
• Analyze customer, product, and operational data to identify opportunities for growth, retention, process optimization, and improved customer experience.
• Support strategic initiatives related to Small Business Banking products, digital onboarding, partnerships, customer acquisition, and lifecycle management.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and business case development to support new products, services, and growth opportunities.
• Partner with stakeholders across Product, Operations, Technology, Marketing, Compliance, and Risk to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable recommendations.
• Perform root cause analysis on customer experience, onboarding, operational, and performance issues while developing data-driven recommendations for improvement.
• Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, and automation initiatives designed to improve efficiency, scalability, and service quality.
• Develop presentations, executive summaries, and analytical insights for leadership reviews and strategic planning discussions.
• Support program management activities by tracking project milestones, documenting requirements, coordinating across teams, and monitoring initiative progress.
• Evaluate customer behavior, portfolio performance, and business trends to uncover actionable insights that support deposit growth and customer engagement.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and technology solutions to enhance business performance and operational effectiveness.
